STORY

The summoner draws power from the spirits of those whose hearts have become tainted with bloodlust and greed. The spirits collected by him are then forced to do his bidding. One such purpose given to these enslaved souls is to find other sources of power. Only those who know the meaning of mercy stand a chance against him. Defeating him is no simple task for in order to accomplish this, the grave of his earthly vessel must first be found and then whatever there is to be found at that site must be destroyed. Many have tried but failed...

ARTIST'S NOTES:

I used a set of brushes having canvas textures set to height mode.

Done in Photoshop CS5.

amazing piece.

but I just gotta say, I can't help but think of Meta Knight when I see this. the helmet, the shoulder armor, the dark cape, and a big sword just instantly brings to mind said villainous video game character

Yup! This was featured in issue 76. They got the title wrong though. It should be "The Summoner Approaches" instead of "The Summer Approaches". I keep forgetting to send them an email about it. But my work doesn't get published very often so I'm still very happy. :)
